Established in May 1983〔Website of KITCOEK〕 Kolhapur Institute of Technology's College of Engineering is situated in Gokul Shirgaon, India, 7 km away from Kolhapur Railway Station. Sprawled over of campus, it is the first self-financed engineering college in Maharashtra and has been awarded "A" status by the government of Maharashtra in recognition of its academic excellence and infrastructure.Moreover it is also accredited by NAAC as 'A' grade college & N.B.A with the same 'A' grade. It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.〔 Menon Pistons Pvt. The campus has classrooms, drawing halls, laboratories, seminar halls, library, canteen, an open-air auditorium, and a gym.
